How to become a Notary Public in Idaho!

(Each petition sheet we collect needs to be notarized before the signatures are turned in to the county clerk’s office.)

  1. Get your notary bond. We recommend using a simple online service like notarypublicunderwriters.com (packages starting at $74).

  2. Create an account and fill out your notary application with the Idaho Secretary of State’s office here.

  3. Get your notary application notarized (we’re available to notarize documents if you’re in Boise: send us a message!)

  4. Mail your notary bond, application, and $30 filing fee to the Secretary of State’s office.

  5. Once you receive your Notary Certificate, you can get your stamp. (If you use a service like Notary Public Underwriters, you will login to your account and provide your commission number to get your stamp.)
